Pediatric NeuroBehavioral Services

The Pediatric NeuroBehavioral Program offered at Timber Ridge Ranch NeuroRestorative® Services is designed to promote normal overall development in children ages 6-12 with both neurological and psychiatric diagnoses. Services target functional skills, behavioral development, socialization, peer interaction and family education.

Program Goals

The Pediatric NeuroBehavioral Program strives to maximize each child’s functional abilities and promote normal growth. Specific treatment goals include the acquisition of:

  • Effective communication skills enabling improved interaction.
  • Skills for maximizing independence in activities of daily living.
  • Adaptive coping skills.
  • Specific strategies to facilitate learning in all academic areas.
  • Skills necessary to participate in appropriate recreational activities.
  • Skills necessary for successful transition to home and school environment.

The program provides individualized training and education for families.

Program Services

The Pediatric NeuroBehavioral Program at Timber Ridge Ranch NeuroRestorative® Services provides comprehensive treatment addressing identified deficit areas. Treatment is tailored to each child’s unique strengths, deficits, and interests based on assessments in therapeutic and educational areas. The Pediatric NeuroBehavioral program is separately staffed and managed.

An approved school is operated on-site. The classroom setting allows clients to emulate their post-discharge setting and affords therapists and teachers the opportunity to assess their development.

Comprehensive treatment is based on the individual needs of each child and may focus on areas including:

Recreational Activities Case Management
Behavior Psycho-social Adjustment
Physical Functioning  

Appropriate Referrals

The Pediatric NeuroBehavioral Program serves children ages 6-12 who exhibit any of the following neurological and psychiatric impairments:

  • Documented evidence of neurological impairment.
  • Axis I, II, III, IV, and V diagnoses.
  • Behavior issues (i.e. impulsivity, hyperactivity, non-compliant behaviors, socially inappropriate behaviors, decreased motivation, withdrawal, and verbal and physical aggression.
  • Functional deficits (i.e. decreased attention, memory, problem-solving and safety judgement.)
  • Speech and language impairments (i.e. decreased word-finding skills, articulation disorders, problems in phonation and fluency, dysphasia, and difficulty understanding verbal and written directions.)
