The Pediatric and Adolescent programs at Timber Ridge Ranch NeuroRestorative® Services are designed to maximize recovery from acquired brain injury while promoting normal overall development. Services are provided for ages 5 to 17, and target impaired language abilities, decreased physical functioning, diminished self-care skills, and behavioral impairments. An approved school is operated on-site, allowing students to continue their education.
Timber Ridge Ranch NeuroRestorative® Services is committed to providing the most appropriate quality treatment, education and care. Residential services provide therapeutic opportunities for children and adolescents not often available through traditional healthcare, educational or rehabilitative settings.
Maximizing each youth’s functional abilities and promoting normal growth is the overall goal of the Pediatric and Adolescent program. Specific treatment goals include the acquisition of:
Functional fine and gross motor skills
Effective communication skills enabling improved interaction
Skills for maximizing independence in activities of daily living
Adaptive coping skills
Specific learning strategies to facilitate learning in all academic areas
Skills necessary to participate in appropriate recreational activities
The program provides training and education for families adjusting to changes in their child and learning to manage their child after discharge. Targeted discharge educational settings receive consultation by program staff to ensure a smooth transition to community schools.
